Yes, that’s right… This is the home page of Star One Delta, Baton Rouge’s leading science fiction club. Based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but covering much of the Gulf Coast area, we are active as fans of both Science and Sci-Fi. From Astronomy & Model Rocketry to Role Playing Games, we’ve got it covered. So if that sounds like something you might be interested in, please check out what we have to offer.

A whirling column of blue-hot light climbs the spine, rumbling the vertebrae with lightning bolts of short-circuiting energy. Teeth sing in their individual sockets like tuning forks, each one pitch-perfect and clear as light. Bones, beneath the hazy envelope of muscle, are chromed and polished, joints lubricated with liquid fire and flowing energies. Sandstorms rage across the scoured floor of the skull generating high, thin static that breaks in waves behind the eyes - spheres of purest crystal, expanding…

Minutes of the Star One Delta Club - Sunday, March 18, 2012

In the final hours of this doomed planet, we gather again to contemplate the stars - our only hope of survival. Human is truly locked to this planetary circle, and lest we free our children to wander the universe, we die - as we arose - from the mud of this third rock from the sun.

These minutes, taken on the Pad of Apple, may or may not translate into the common tongue. Hope springs eternal, yet the light of understanding may fade with the lithium-ion of this battery. Be dim, my screen, lest thy light be extinguished ere this missive conclude.

Strong in the mind of these Deltites be the wonder of “John Carter of Mars.” Though those of Disney (as they are wont) have created of the work a Fairie Tale, the tale be wondrously mighty. Who would have thought? For those not yet experienced of the John Carter (Vir-Gin-Ya), hie thyselves to the Rave to partake!

Next in the anticipation of the ken present is that which is called “The Hunger Games.” Mighty be the trailers, and curious be the ken. Can that such eagerly anticipated actually deliver its promise? Glad be the ken who visit the next Star One Delta meeting to learn! Be thyself among them.
